Video Wall Processors

An image processor's function is simply to break down a video source and send it to multiple display devices based on the number of engines (or cubes). Without a processor, each cube would have the same image (singles mode). Processors in their minimalist function produce what is called "Full Mag" or "Big Picture" mode. You would have only 2 choices singles or one big picture spanning all the cubes.
The processor determines what configuration is possible on a video wall. Configurations of any size are possible. The limiting factors are:

1. Money
2. Image processor
3. Load bearing platform

To determine what you need for a processor you have to identify if you need "show control".

Do not confuse "source control" with show control. There are available a number of devices to send different sources to an image processor. Some brands are AMX, Niles, Knox, etc.

If you wish to have different configurations, (for example on a 3 X 6),  and you wanted one 3X3 to have one big picture, and the 2nd 3 X 3 to have a 2 X 3 picture and the last cubes to have another, you would need an image processor capable of show control. The only manufacturer, whose video walls do not need a processor for big picture is Clarity Visual Systems.
