From time to time, the microprocessor or related circuitry will get "hung up". This frequently occurs after a thunderstorm. As long as the TV is on, everything works - but once it is turned off, it won't come back on. You need to discharge the circuits completely. Other than a technician performing a "hard reset", you can follow the instructions below.

To reset, simply unplug your TV from the wall for about 15 to 30 minutes. Plug it back in and it should turn on.

If not, the safety circuitry in your TV may be causing "shutdown", which indicates a circuit  problem in your TV. If the TV is going into shutdown, there is a major problem with the power supply, the high voltage power supply or regulation of either or both.
